Personal Training

Breakthrough Fitness provides personal training in Dunkirk, MD, and surrounding areas. Let us help you break through the barriers between where you are and where you want to be!

Here’s how it works:

First, in your free Consultation, you’ll chat with a Certified Personal Trainer about your goals. There’s no pressure– this is just a “getting to know you” session.

If you decide to proceed, you’ll be given a client information form to fill out and bring back to your trainer. (It’s best to get this back to us 1-2 days before your next appointment, so we have time to review it.)

Next, we’ll schedule your Fitness Assessment. In that session, we will record a few basic measurements. Then you will be asked to perform a series of simple exercises and movements.  (Forget what you’ve seen on TV–you won’t be asked to do anything crazy. Our goal is not to hurt you!) These exercises will help us get a feel for your current fitness level, your stronger and weaker areas, and any limitations you may have.

After the assessment, “behind the scenes”, we’ll take the information gathered and design a plan to help you achieve your goals. Doing research if necessary, we’ll choose exercises that are appropriate for your needs and your body.

Then we’ll schedule your first “regular” workout. In this session, we’ll teach you your exercise routine. (In some cases, you may have more than one routine; for example, one for home and one for the studio, so multiple teaching sessions may be needed.)

After that, we’ll get you on a regular workout routine.

A good fitness program should be “challenging but not impossible”… so as you get stronger and more fit, your routine must adapt. We will continually adjust your program as your needs change, to keep you on the road to progress. We can even give you a routine to do on vacation!

Personal Training is best for: Clients who want or need one-on-one attention; clients who need to work around prior injuries; also those who have scheduling issues that prevent them from committing to a group schedule.
